The Sims 3 Late Night Won't Respond When Clicking The Play Button, Help!?

Okay so last night I bought the Sims 3 Late Night. I went to insert the CD in my drive (Windows Vista Home Basic PC) and after it was done downloading, I would click the app and the welcome screen would pop up. Then i would click the 'play' button then it freezes and tells me it isn't responding! So I uninstall it and reinstalled it, but still says the same thing.( I currently uninstalled The Sims 3, and my other Expansion Packs). :/ Is there something wrong with my game or PC? Please Help, if you don't know the answer its fine, I'll just have to figure it out somehow . . .Thanks!
