I can't get my bellybutton ring back in!?

I got my bellybutton pierced in January. It seems a little infected because it hasnn't totally healed yet. I cleaned every day until about March and then I stopped. When it continued to pus I used polysporin. Today, the ring fell out and I can't put it back in. I can get it through one of the holes but it won't go in properly so that it comes out of the other side. I just keep jabbing my insides and it's painful! I shoved it in so many times it started to bleed. What to do!?
